I just finished World War Z by Max Brooks and loved it.
This is a story about survival of the human race and the human spirit. It's written as a collection of nonfiction accounts from survivors of the zombie virus, i.e. The Zombie War. What I loved most about the book is that the reactions to the zombie threat (from the smallest child to international government bodies) are so incredibly human and believable. The accounts are collected from people all over the world who tell their horrifying and touching tales of survival. Each account has the palpable feel of cultural accuracy that not only made the book feel true, it made World War Z feel real. I highly recommend it.
